$1 million is donated by Akersons to Habitat for Humanity
"DETROIT -- General Motors CEO Dan Akerson and his wife, Karin, donated $1 million to start a Habitat for Humanity initiative called Leaders to ReBuild Detroit.
“What we can do is a drop in the bucket of what needs to be done,” Akerson said in a speech to about 100 at a school in which the community to be funded resides. “That’s why we wanted to get involved with this $25 million initiative that Habitat for Humanity started. In Tenn.VW to hike Passat output, add 200 jobs
"To boost output of the VW Passat at its new plant in Chattanooga planned by Volkswagen AG, Tenn., by 13 percent and add 200 jobs.
The automaker will hike production of the redesigned Passat from 31 to 35 cars per hour. According to VW the new jobs will be integrated into the plant's current two-shift operation and be filled by full-time Volkswagen employees.
